Dr Michelle LaRue is a wildlife ecologist and speaker, best known for her trailblazing work that includes “spying on animals from space”—in other words, using satellite images to learn about penguins and seals in Antarctica. Though Michelle dreamed of being a marine biologist as a kid, she was not a fan of cold weather—until she went to Antarctica. And now, she can’t get enough of it! Currently an Associate Professor at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, you are equally likely to find her sipping coffee, hiking in the mountains, or taking pictures of animals.
